To help you revamp your living room while on a budget, we have put together these handy tips and ideas, below:

Wash your walls

If the paint in your living room is looking a little grimy, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to re-paint. Before spending money on new paint, consider giving your walls a wash first. All you need for this is a bowl of warm water, mild detergent, and a washcloth or sponge.

While it might take a while to wash all the walls in the room, the results will make it worth the effort. You will be amazed at how much of a difference simply washing your walls can make. Plus, it costs barely anything, and can save you a bomb on re-painting.

Paint your walls yourself

If your paint is bubbling or peeling, or washing your walls didn’t make a difference, then you may need to re-paint. The first thing you need to know about this is that if you hire a decorator, you will blow your budget. When money is tight, it’s always best to do your decorating yourself. Yes, it’s hard work, but it will save you a lot of money.

Instead of buying your paint from a regular DIY store, have a look around for discount stores. You will find that at most discount stores, you can pick up a can of paint for half the price you would normally pay.

Have your carpets cleaned

If your carpets are looking grubby, you might be thinking about replacing them. However, replacing your carpets won’t come cheap, so if money is tight, it might be best to think again.

Instead of paying out to have your carpets replaced, why not consider having them cleaned? While you can clean your carpets yourself, if you want good results, hire carpet cleaning services. Not only will the results be better, but the job will be done much more quickly.

Add a few new pieces to the room

Think about adding some new items in your room that don’t cost too much to refresh it’s look! Some new art on the walls would do a great job. Or what about a bean bag? There are plenty of different designs and sizes to fit your room. Take a look at Comfy Sacks compared to Sumo Sac to see for yourself!

Upcycle old furniture

If you are bored of your coffee table, living room chest or desk, don’t replace them with new pieces. Instead, consider upcycling them and transforming them into stylish, new designs. You might think that upcycling is a lot of work, but it doesn’t have to be, it depends on how you go about it.

You can find loads of fantastic tutorials on YouTube, so make sure to have a look at those. You can also find lots of information on DIY blogs about revamping your furniture, so you could always take a look at those too.

While living on a tight budget isn’t easy, it doesn’t mean that you can’t make your home nice. If your living room is looking a little worse for wear, but money is tight, all you need to do is follow the tips and ideas in this guide.
