Wonder Bread provided me with a product in return for this post. However, as always all opinions expressed are my own. Pinky Promise!
Growing up with a single mom who was very frugal I was taught to always buy the cheapest groceries that I could find, which in many cases was the generic store brand. So whenever I shop now I get a good bit of items that are generic brand just because I don’t think there are a big difference in taste, I mean of course some things (like cookies) I buy name brand because it tastes much better and are worth the money.
One of the times that I always buy the store brand in is bread, I mean seriously is it really worth the extra money? I didn’t think so.
Well that was until I opened the package that Wonder Bread sent us, from them moment that I opened it the smell of fresh bread came pouring out. I can assure you that none of the generic bread that I ever bought smelled like this. Of course it was no surprise that the bread also tasted significantly fresher that our normal bread. Even my husband who really dislikes sandwiches ate a whole sandwich without fussing, which for me was as sign that I would never be buying generic bread ever again because Wonder Bread is really worth a little extra money!
I decided if the Wonder Bread was so good in sandwich form that I need to make some french toast with it as well, so I made some super easy vanilla french bread and it was AMAZING!
EASY VANILLA FRENCH TOAST
1/4 cup liquid vanilla coffee creamer
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
5-8 slices of Wonder Bread
Mix all of your ingredients.
Toast your bread in your toaster.
Dip your toast in the mixture (be sure to lightly coat each side).
Brown your french toast on both sides in a buttered pan.
Top with syrup and enjoy!
