DIY Yarn Wall Hanging

While digging through Etsy I came across this really amazing fiber wall hanging. Which basically was yarn (or so it seemed) and a metal stick and string (not to decrease the value of what the seller was selling because it was really gorgeous), so naturally I favorited it hoping one day I would have an extra $60 to purchase it.

Well long story short, I was wondering around in Hobby Lobby with Jayde and some some gorgeous grey yarn that I instantly fell in love with. Then it occurred to me that I could totally use this to make one of those stunning wall hangings that I saw on Etsy for Jaydes room!

I purchased the yarn for $4 (on sale) and some dowels for $2 and used some sting that I had at home. I spent quite a while tying the strips of yarn to the dowel. Once I had a good bit of yarn on their I tied string to the dowel so that I could hang this up. Once I hung the yarn wall hanging on the wall I decided to trim some of the yarn to make it have two different lengths. I didn’t sit and make ever single length perfect because I think that it adds character.

In the end I saved $54 (plus shipping) to make this gorgeous wall hanging that I totally love. Now to get more yarn to make one for over my desk!
