Boy has TV had some really unconventional mothers over the years. Then again I guess all mothers are a tad unorthodox from time to time. While I really pride myself in being a good mother two my three I know there has certainly been some times where I could have been considered unconventional.
Like whenever my kids were little if I found a toy while out shopping that I thought that they would enjoy as a gift as a child I would pretend that we were buying it for family or a friend. I would even ask the kids if they liked the toy. Sometimes I even saved the toys up and used them as gifts from Santa. When opening the gift sometimes the kids would say “Hey, Didn’t we buy one of these for _____?”, yet they never once caught onto what I was doing. Honestly, I still kind of think that it is pretty clever. If only I could get away with that now that they are older!
Starting on Monday September 23rd at 9:30 ET/8:30 CT CBS will add a few more unconventional moms to the list, whenever the new show MOM premiers. MOM is staring Anna Faris play Christy as a recently sober single mom of two children. Emmy Award winner Allison Janney plays Bonnie, Christy’s overly critical (and estranged) mom. Christy is a waitress doing her best at a super fancy Napa Valley restaurant, where she works beside French Stewart who plays Chef Rudy.
Christy’s sobriety is tested which her world full of pitfalls and temptations. Christy tries to remain as positive as possible as she tries to pursue her new path in life, however she faces an uphill battle, surrounded by a complicated circle of relationships, dubious support system, and an enormous amount of dysfunction!
Since I spilled the beans, what is your biggest Mom confession?
