Last night John and I sat down and watched the brand new Rock of Ages. I was pretty excited because I love movies that are based in other time eras (especially the 1980′s).
This movie is riddled with big names(Julianne Hough , Tom Cruise , Diego Boneta , Russell Brand , Alec Baldwin), which made it interesting for me because I enjoyed watching each of them adapt a character outside of those that they would normally play. Tom Cruise plays a rocker!
The movie is about a big city boy, who moves to a small town where rock music has been outlawed. He meet a small town girl Sherrie on the Sunset Strip while they are both pursuing their Hollywood dreams. His rebellious nature shakes up the whole town! Their love story is told through some pretty rocking music!
This movie was not at all what I was expected, I guess I misread the part about it being a musical. I’m not normally a fan of musicals, however it featured some awesome music by Journey, Def Leppard, Poison, Whitesnake, Bon Jovi, Foreigner, Joan Jett, and REO Speedwagon.
Rock of Ages will be available for purchase October 9th at Best Buy. You can also pre-order the movie on BestBuy.com as well. Do not forget that Rock of Ages also has a really great soundtrack so you will want to check that out while you are on the website!

We have not seen this movie yet and I didn’t realize that there were so many big names in it. I see that it is available for purchase after October 9…guess I will have to check it out. Thx.
