Ever feel like you are drowning in paper work? Well, I literally was. I have been saving since Chandler started school when he was 4 (he is 11 now). John has been bugging me for years just to sit down and go through everything, and decide what actually needed to be kept.
Since I was quickly losing my entire desk area I decided to sit down and go through it all.I found a ton of papers with no names, and a bunch of random papers that didnt even make sense to keep. I also found some super sweet things that the kids made over their years in school. But, I also found something that made my heart stop.
An unopened letter from my Mom.
I have no idea how its even possible that the letter was in there, let alone being unopened. Inside was a letter to me, and three postcards. Each post card was addressed to one of the kids, complete with a letter from my Mom. The kids we were shocked that I had letters for them, especially from Granny. As I passed them out, I noticed Chandler take his and run up to his room. I didn’t pry, but it was clear he was happy to have it, and maybe slightly upset. The other two took them and placed them in special spots.
The letter was dated October 10, 2010. Almost exactly a year before her passing. I have no clue how its even possible that the letter ended up in a box of the kids school papers, and it being unopened.
For me it was just a reminder of how much I miss her, and how short life really is.

It sounds like it was meant to happen that way – for you to discover a year after she passed so you would treasure it so much more. I’m glad you found it.
