Yikes! I just budgeted out the next two weeks of groceries and somehow they came up to around $225 for a family of 5. We have never topped $200 for two weeks. So after my inlaws visit this month I vow to cut my grocery budget by a LOT.
Though, I think the reason for the increase in my budget is because I no longer buy frozen/canned vegetables, and exclusively buy fresh vegetables. Much healthier, and honestly, far more delicious.
Monday: Beef Tacos, Chips and Salsa, and taco salad
Tuesday: Ham and swiss sliders, sweet potato waffle fries, fruit salad
Wednesday: Shepherds pie, green beans and rolls
Thursday: Beef with broccoli, white rice, and mini corn
Friday: Grilled burgers, baked beans, and potato salad
Saturday: chili and cornbread
Sunday: chicken fried steak with gravy, peas, and corn on the cobb

I prefer fresh vegetables as well but still buy the ocasional can or frozen pack here and there. I’m visiting from Meal Plan Monday. We have beef with brocoli on our menu this week as well!

I too still grab a frozen occasionally. Mostly just incase I get a craving for something.

Sometimes the hardest part is just making a menu like this. I am going to print out this page and follow it this Monday. I am going to do the same main entrees every day except for Sunday! I think I will do most of the same sides too! Thx!!!
