VSP’s SeeMuchMore.com

Each year August means two things to our family, back to school and back to school preparations. Part of our back to school routine is doctors exams for school physicals and eye exams for the kids. While up until moving to Kentucky yearly eye exams were not necessary for back to school I took the kids anyway to be aware of their overall health,(Did you know are important to your overall health. They allow VSP eye doctors to detect early signs of health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, among others.) and I knew that at least one of our children would probably need glasses since both me and my husband wear them. I have had glasses since I was 13, and probably needed them well before then because I remember having to copy off of a friends papers in class because I could not see the board at the front of the class. I didn’t want any of my three to have to go through this, so I made sure they never missed their yearly exams.

Whenever we took the kids for their first exam I was not surprised when I was told that Jayde, at only 4 needed glasses to correct an astigmatism. Though I was surprised to learn that she should have had her eyes checked as young as six months old! She is 9 now and has had about 8 pairs of glasses (yes, kids with glasses can be rough and very expensive). Luckily though we have always had good eye insurance through VSP so we never had to wonder if she would be covered, or what exactly would be covered.

If you have never heard of VSP, VSP Vision Care is the leading not-for-profit vision benefits and services company in the United States with a whopping 58 million members and a network of private-practice optometrist to the tune of over 28,000 nationwide. They even have a really cool calculator that tells you just how much you would save if you were to enroll (Woah! Thats a lot of money!). Thats not all though, there is so much more from what brands to choose from, where to enroll, eye care tips to even games. Almost anything you might need you will find at SeeMuchMore.com
