Havertys the Follow Up

So after reading a comment on one of my Havertys post I remembered that I never followed up on my saga. Unless of course you follow me on twitter then of course you’ve heard me crying like a baby almost daily.  Heres what happened:

We swapped out the two broken chairs for a loveseat, that was delivered scratched and deflated. That of course prompted a letter.

After that last letter we sent, we met with the local general manager. He was very nice, as were most of the people in the store. He told us to make a reselection or we could choose a FULL refund and he would forward it up to corporate. He even had Miller (our on going salesman) walk around with us to help pick something out. And we did, a nice grey sectional. He informed us that we would hear back from them in a few days. Days later we heard back, our reselection was denied so we decided to return all the furniture and just FULL refund.

Fast forward, a week or two we had a day scheduled for them to come pick up the furniture. Now, Ill be honest here, Im not going to write EVERYTHING down that they did, because well I would be here all night writing and I just do not have that kind of time. Basically during the time span of 13 hours I sat and waited and played phone tag with havertys. They never showed up. They of course rescheduled another pick up date. That they finally showed up to, over 5 hours late.

Fast forward a week or so, we get a deposit into the bank account for ALMOST, yes almost the full amount. Even though the general manager sent us a letter with the full amount and stating that we would recieve that amount. Whenever we called him he played dumb, and insisted that was all we would get almost $300 short of what we paid for.

Here we are week later, with NO furniture at all and out a lot of time and money but free of Havertys. We went with another company, who I wont disclose yet until I see how they do.  It is a shame that companies do business like this. Heed my warning, do NOT shop at Havertys. You will not get what you pay for, it is much more stress than its worth. When you spend thousands of dollars you should get quality. This was not the case.

I recently decided not to purchase from Haverty’s thanks to your unfortunate situation and poor service! I hope both of us will be happy with our alternate choice. :D
