One of our favorite summer activities is going on picnics. But with five of us, that means I need a strong durable bag to carry all of our picnic goodies in. In the past few years I have went though my share of tote bags, mostly because they just weren’t strong enough {that and I really enjoy bags}.
So whenever we had the opportunity to try out one of ReUseIt.com’s tote bags, I chose to check out their BlueAvocado Big Chil Large Insulated Reusable Shopping Bag in the kiwi wildflower color. I was a little unsure about the color, but Jayde convinced me that it was a great choice. Once it arrived I was happy I made that decision, the color was vibrant {but not too bright} and fun! But it was not visually appealing with the modern design and extra external pockets. It also is made from polyester made from 50% Repreve recycled fibers from plastic bottles.
Our first test drive with this bag was a trip to Sams Club. I needed something to put the perishable goods into after we left Sam’s and finished up our shopping at another grocery store, to keep it from spoiling. I stuck two gallons of milk, a huge tray of chicken, shredded cheese and a container on yogurt, while it didn’t quite zip completely, it did keep them cold. Which was my main concern. This bag can keep its contents hot/cold for up to 3 hours!
I wasn’t planning on carrying all those items in that bag from the van to the house, but before I knew it John was inside the house with the bag and all of its contents. Any other bag that I have tried in the past would have split in half under all that weight. Not this bag, it held strong against all the weight.
Tomorrow I plan on taking the kids on a picnic and testing it out, but after the last grocery trip I have no doubts that this bag will exceed my expectations once again.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
