We recently had the pleasure of trying Almond Breeze, and to be honest I was very excited to try it because as you all know I have been looking for ways to eat healthier. After looking at some of the FAQ’s on their site, I was very impressed to hear that Almond Breeze doesn’t contain lactose, saturated fat, cholesterol, gluten, dairy, or casein. One of the health benefits of Almond Breeze is weight maintenance- ”Unsweetened Almond Breeze is a natural choice for the weight conscious. The combination of protein, fiber and monounsaturated fat found in almonds also has been shown to help people feel full, which tends to lower food consumption throughout the day. ” Not to mention almond milk is great for people who are lactose intolerant, or have type 2 diabetes, heart disease, or celiac disease.
That all being said, my initial response was that its healthy, so it probably doesn’t taste that good right? I was very hesitant, but whenever we ran out of our 2% milk and two of my three kids didn’t have enough milk to have cereal, I reached for the Almond Breeze to save the day. We were very surprised, the kids were incredibly pleased with Almond Breeze milk in their cereal. They enjoyed its sweet flavor. The next morning they actually chose it over 2% milk in their cereal. Over all I was very pleased with its flavor, the kids really enjoyed it. With the exception of Jayde she said it was too sweet. Maybe next time we will try the unsweetened, I think she would enjoy that one.
For me the biggest thing was that it doesn’t have to refrigerate it until you open it. Great for those times whenever you run out of the other milk. For us though, it will be our go to milk, because its health benefits are just awesome!
