Today, out of desperation I cheated on my diet. I was hungry, and tired since I haven’t really slept well since John left on a business trip last Sunday. I turned to my old faithful McDonalds, because its cheap and fast. Don’t worry, I didn’t get the extra large value meal like I would have done in the past. I just grabbed us all a McDouble each to hold us off till I made it home and could get something else to eat.
The second I picked up that greasy little burger I knew immediately that it was all wrong. The grease was literally covering the wrapper, and I was about to eat what was inside.Thats when I took that first bite. It was terrible. The bun was dry and weird. The meat and cheese was flavorless, totally lacking taste, mostly just a texture, and not a pleasant one. I looked back into the rear view and watched the kids as they had similar reactions, thats when I recalled the looks on their faces at Kroger the other day whenever I told them to grab that massive package of fresh strawberries. Their reaction was identical to mine, they {like me} ate if because they were hungry, but Im sure they were thinking about all the other things they could have been eating instead.
Besides the fact that the burger just tasted terrible, it also had a whopping 390 calories {even though I suspect it had more, because I didn’t count the grease all over it}, and it left me feel tired, and totally unsatisfied. I wasn’t hungry anymore, but I couldn’t have been any further from happy.
Moral of the story?
1. McDonalds is gross. Very gross.
2. Plan ahead so that I won’t have to make a bad decision like this again!
If you’re looking for me, Ill be out walking that “burger” off.

That was me last week. I absolutely cringe when I get so hungry and the easiest thing to do is get fast food. I know how you feel but I am so ready to get back to my healthy eating. I hope you are able to stay away from the gross fast food after today.

Ugh, yuck, yuck, yuck. I haven’t had McDonald’s in over 4 months and the only thing I truly miss is the fries. But the good news, now that you got a taste of just how bad those are you’ll remember it next time you feel desperate.
